  1. Structure of the film opening 

 

 

 

 

This first shot establishes George Foreman’s opponent as he’s narrating the opening scene, it has the classic slow motion that’s in most boxing movies. 

 

Medium closeup shot, high angel, 1 shot, static movement 

Inserting image... 

This next shot shows another angel of the fight, and it actually flows pretty well with the scene. As you can see it shows the boxer’s feet in slow motion which shows more of the action in a new perspective. 

Low angel shot, low angel, 2 shot, static movement 

 

This shot shows one boxer hitting the other. In slow motion you can feel the impact as sweat flies everywhere, no music, just the sound of a guy socking another guy in the face. 

Over the shoulder, high angel, 2 shot, static movement 

Inserting image... 

This shot is the other guy recoiling back at the punch. We see his sweat as he composes himself, putting his fists up like he’s coming back for seconds. His sweat flies and he gets ready for his next move. 

Over the shoulder, high angel, 2 shot, static movement 

 

Action line: George foreman missed his punch towards the other boxer showing the other boxers untouchable skill 

Shot size: Master shot. 

Camera angle: low angle 

Framing: three shot 

Composition: shallow focus 

Tone: Dark, intense, and dramatic 

Editing: insert shot,  

 

 

 

Action line: Foreman further misses while the other boxer is out-boxing him, again showing the other boxers skill setting up the next shot. 

Shot size: Overhead shot 

Camera angle: high angle 

Framing: crowd shot 

Composition: shallow focus 

Tone: Dark, intense, and dramatic 

Editing: establishing shot  

 

 

Action line: Meant to show the exchange of punches before George foreman gets a big uppercut from the other boxer making his face recoil and a gigantic thud sound effect is played to tell the intensity of the punch, so the audience can tell. 

Shot size: Over the shoulder shot 

Camera angle: low angle 

Framing: one shot 

Composition: Deep focus 

Tone: Dark, intense, and dramatic 

Editing: insert shot, shot reverse shot 

Action line: Foreman further recoils due to the big concussive uppercut making his head shoot back to where he is looking at the ceiling truly showing the impact. 

Shot size: Overhead shot 

Camera angle: high angle 

Framing: two shot 

Composition: Balance 

Tone: Dark, intense, and dramatic 

Editing: Fade out
